Trapping and shooting

In some situations the extent of the pest bird problem, most notably pigeons is such that trapping and shooting has to bring the problem under control. However, trapping and shooting is only effective when used in combination with other preventative treatments such as netting and spiking. It is our belief that trapping and shooting can only ever be a short-term solution to a long-term problem. For example, culing  has been used to reduce pigeon numbers for many years often alongside other treatments including anti-perching and netting. Hawkeye Bird Control technicians are authorised under general licence to shoot and trap birds. We will only ever recommend shooting and trapping if after conducting an extensive site survey we believe that it is crucial to the success of the recommended ongoing prevention and management regime.
